Dr. Galen Guo is a Ph.D. holder in Biology with a specialization in Chemical and Environmental Toxicology. Dr. Guo is fluent in written and spoken French and English, as well as spoken Cantonese. He has published research papers on the discovery and identification of a new methylmercury demethylation pathway in the human gut microbiota and the description of river otter microbiota. Dr. Guo has received numerous scholarships, including the NSERC CREATE-REACT scholarship and the Simon Nehme Entrepreneurship School scholarship. Dr. Guo has experience as a Research Scientist and Post-Doctoral Fellow at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and has developed a novel pipeline for metagenomic and whole genome sequencing data analyses. He has also worked as a lecturer and teaching assistant at various universities, including the University of Ottawa and Laurentian University. Additionally, Dr. Guo has served as a volunteer Director of Community Accounts at St-John Ambulance Region 6, Division 178, Montreal, Quebec.
